I Now Pronounce You
I consider “I Now Pronounce You” to be my third play, and most
importantly, an experiment. Performed with a cast of four, playing
the roles of a dozen, “I Now Pronounce You” is to be performed
like a High School Tournament piece - two chairs, no costumes.
While some called this departure pure flash-and-trash, I thought
of it as a challenge for the actors. This the first play I out-and-out
broke the fourth wall (a practice I’m not fond of), and my first
play with a female lead (which I am just bad at). Overall, while
not my magnum opus, this show gave me the chance to work with Alley
dramaturge Amy Steele for a brief time, as she audited my show.
